Benjamin Moore Estate, also known as Chelsea, is a historic estate located at Muttontown in Nassau County, New York. Built for Alexandra Emery, and Benjamin Moore a lawyer, married in 1920. On their wedding trip on a houseboat floating down the Yangtze river in China they spotted a black and white farm house. That became inspiration for the estate. Built in 1923-1924, designed by architect William Adams Delano & Alexandra Emery the main house is an eclectic mix of Chinese & French Renaissance. |
